Amazon Plans Opa-Locka Warehouse With 1,000 Jobs

Amazon is expected to open one of the largest warehouses in the county at the Opa-locka airport, creating a nearly 900,000-square-foot distribution center with 1,000 jobs on the site being developed by the Carrie Meek Foundation and its for-profit partner.

The deal has been talked about for months, but only received official confirmation when Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced it during a televised debate Sunday with challenger Raquel Regalado.

Amazon.com Inks Deal For New Distribution Center In South Florida

Amazon.com signed a lease for its second distribution and fulfillment center in Miami-Dade County, according to county records.

Flagler Global Logistics subsidiary SFLC Building 5 signed a lease with the Seattle-based web retailer for a facility that will be constructed in the South Florida Logistics Center at 3200 N.W. 67th Ave. It’s located on the west side of Miami International Airport.
